Common reasons for a visit
What people come in for
These are the reasons people tell us they book. Acupuncture is one part of care, and it works alongside your doctor's.
Back, neck and shoulders
Stiffness from desks, driving or lifting is the reason we hear most. Your acupuncturist may suggest cupping with acupuncture.
Headaches and jaw tension
People who clench or carry tension at the base of the skull come in to feel looser. If a headache is sudden and severe, see a doctor first.
Knees, hips and joints
Long runs, long shifts and stairs leave joints sore. Acupuncture can fit beside the plan your doctor or physical therapist has.
Stress and sleep
A busy season or a bad night can leave people wound up. Acupuncture does not replace counseling or medicine.
Digestion and appetite
Some people come in when their stomach is unsettled. Bring any diagnosis from your doctor and we work alongside it.
Care alongside your doctor
If you manage a long-term condition, acupuncture is something you add, not something you swap in.
What acupuncture does not do
It does not replace your doctor, your medicines or your therapist. We do not prescribe medicine or ask you to stop yours.
It does not work the same way for everyone, and we do not promise a result. Your acupuncturist tells you how you are doing and when to try something else.
When to see a doctor instead
See your doctor or an urgent care clinic first for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, a sudden severe headache, or a fever with a stiff neck. In an emergency, call 911.
